Handmade Steampunk Inspired Jewelry Box or Keepsake Box. Holds several rings or pieces of jewelry.
OUTSIDE:
- Teal paint in overall wood box. Some Teal areas are painted with a coat of metallic gold to give some contrast and shimmer.
- Top of the box contains Octopus Metal Brass Embellishment with dark green crystals for eyes (Height 2 3/4 inches x Width 1 1/4 inches) and other round metal embellishments.
INSIDE:
- Inside outer edges are painted teal with a lights coat of metallic gold paint.
- Interior is painted in metallic gold paint that gives it a bit of shimmer.
Nature has always inspired my artwork. While visiting the Baltimore Aquarium, I got a neat chance to observe a sleeping octopus. I was able to capture a few images and the green lighting that was used in the tank to illuminate the area enough to spot the sleeping octopus (provided image), this inspired me to use teal and black paint to capture what I saw that day.
I love combining hard elements like metal to give it a steampunk theme, but incorporating a bright teal color to give it an even cooler aquatic tone and feel. I then give it a slight contrast and go with a softer look by using metallic gold paint to give it a warmer and shimmer look.
All metal items are secured with glue. Contains small objects not suitable for children. NOT A TOY - ONLY 1 AVAILABLE
