On a hot summer day, while visiting the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in D.C., I got a chance to watch what seemed hundreds of dragonflies of all colors flying from lotus flowers to water lilies. They seemed to have this beautiful, delicate dance as they flew from one flower to the next. Watching their translucent and iridescent wings made me think of them as colorful fairies. I was able to capture "Blue Dragonfly" and "Hold On Dragonfly" images on this day. Both Dragonfly images in this series were taken on that day.
“Purple Prince” flower was taken at the United States National Arboretum in D.C. I don’t remember if I took this image in the Spring or Summer, my mind was very distracted with the recent passing of the singer/songwriter/musician/dancer…you get the picture, he was very talented human being Prince Rogers Nelson also knows as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. What caught my attention about this flower, is how it has this subtle, translucent pedals, but yet you can still clearly view the pastel purple color of the flower. The color purple of course reminded me of Prince and his famous song titled “purple rain”. I caught this image for both the beauty of the flower as I have never seen one before and truly haven’t seen it again but I’m sure it still blooms in the Arboretum, I just haven’t caught it again. And also because the color reminded me of a special human being who had recently passed away, so I named it “Purple Prince”.
“Purple Water” was taken at the United States Botanic Garden in D.C. During the winter months, I like to visit this place often as I get a chance to view so many blooming flowers inside a warm environment, something to take me away from the harsh winter months and distract me by making me feel that for a moment, that I’m visiting another place in the world that is not cold and gloomy. I don’t know if this plant was recently watered, or if they retain water in the middle of the flower, but I remember looking inside this flower and was captivated by the small flowers surrounded by water, making it look like small tiny flowers were floating in the water inside a large flower. This was truly a whimsical surprise and I truly enjoyed photographing this flower.
I hope that my photography was able to capture what I saw and experienced on those days I'll always remember, and that I was able to share those experience with you through my photography. More importantly, I hope that the greeting cards brighten up your day!

I use Premium Eco Clear Bags - more Clearer, Stronger, and more Crease Resistant made from plants and compostable. I use these new Premium Eco Clear Bags to replace traditional Poly bag but the sustainability of a Eco-Friendly product.
Postal Service Priority Mail products and First-Class packages may require more time to be delivered due to limited transportation availability as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. From personal experience, I’ve shipped First Class Packages and half of them are receiving in 3 business days while the other half have taken up to two weeks to receive.
Priority Mail’s two-day and three-day service commitments will be extended to three days and four days, respectively. Customers will continue to receive product tracking.
